Craving Spring’s Warmth and Colors

I love the Midwest.  I love Iowa.

When we got our first snow, Bart and I were so giddy that it actually was soft and powdery and it accumulated over 4 inches. We oohhed and awed over the 6 foot tall snow mounds from the snow plows.  I felt like I was in a movie when I saw the snow form soft corners in our windows allowing us to see through a small little oval.

But, it will definitely take me some getting used to when it comes to Winter in March.  My body is clinching and twitching expecting warm weather and sunshine at this very moment.  So I thought I might try to calm it down a bit with this Spring eye candy.

Anthropologie

House Beautiful

I’ve always dreamed of having a back yard with a dining table like this for the whole family to eat dinner on every night during the Spring and Summer, a la Brother’s and Sister’s and Parenthood.

House Beautiful

Well, who wouldn’t like this?

Southern Living

A Classic.  Southern sun porch.  And of course, what goes with rockin’ chairs on a front porch…

This makes me think of summer time at Mimi’s.  We always drank out of clear Mason Jars.

Yes, I know the picture above is sweet tea.  (I’m assuming it’s sweet tea, because that’s the only kind of tea there is, right y’all?)  But, I think I might be the only Southern Girl in the world that doesn’t drink tea.  I would much rather have a cold jar of ice water.

J.Crew

I want this, from head to toe.  I crave bright color when Spring begins.  I think this does the trick.

thank you for your comment on Word women Wednesday:) I came over to visit you and I too…am craving Spring. I can’t wait to shed these winter clothes and get into some shorts! I am in the Midwest…Missouri. Kansas City really:)
It is cold today but Friday is supposed to be almost 60 so I am thinking I will get outside and do some walking or jogging.

That’s funny Tiffini, I guess we are pretty much neighbors now. I woke up this morning to a few inches of snow on the ground, but I’ll take it. I think it should be sunny and in the 50′s next week!

Hi there! I’m not exactly sure how I stumbled upon your blog but OH MY GOODNESS! I have seriously just spent a shameful amount of time over here and my toilets aren’t getting any cleaner. LOL! I absolutely love all of your fashion and design inspirations but most of all I loved reading about your infertility and adoption journey. As an adoptive mother myself (twice over and both domestic) I just felt an immediate connection and so totally relate! I have also started sharing some of our journey on my blog (It’s called a ‘Labor of the Heart’) and it is such a wonderful way to tell others about God’s perfect plan for our families, even when His way of accomplishing things was so different from how we first imagined. Thank you for sharing from your heart and I look forward to coming back for another shameful amount of blog reading! :-)

At the risk of seeming totally weird (which really I am!) I just had to come back over and tell you that it just now dawned on me that we have totally similar photos (baby fingers wrapped around grown-up fingers) we are using for our Adoption/Infertility Journey portions of our blog! I think I just heard the Twilight Zone theme song….Lol!
